A customer has to reface a old extrusion line. In
the course of control system retrofit we had to
change the hydraulic winder against electrical
servo drives.
solution
For the new control system we took a Siemens
PLC S7-1500 with safety performance. All
sensors, transmittes, emergency actuaters,
valves, solidstate and servo drives have been
connected with peripheral PLC nodes. For
visualization and operation are touchpanels from
Siemens in use, programmed with the WINCC –
Flexible tool.The servo drives for winder and foil
storage come from Bosch Rexroth. They are via
profinet with the main control connected.

In two existing water pumpstations had to reface
the control system and the pump drive. Both
stations had to communicate with each other for to
bulit up a active redundancy between the two PLC
controller. The old water pressure control, made
with opening and closing the rotary valve position,
had to change against a inverter for the pumpe
drive. With it we got a much better energy
performance.
solution
Each pumpstation got a PLC from Siemens S7-
1500. With a scalance radio communication
were both PLC‘s connected. The pump drives got a
frequency inverter of type ACS800 from ABB each.
The pressure control makes the PLC. A touchpanel
of type TP700 from Siemens, is recording water
pressure and water levels. On screen you can
entry the machine parameters and get the
information over the station status. A wire
connection to the main control level were
integrated again in the new control system.

Coil feed
requirement
A coil feeder has to load 4 syntetic strips to a
injection molding machine. After each machine
cycle has the feeder to transport a desired lenght
through the tool. The strips have to be tight over the
whole transport distance. Colour sensors control
splicing and strip end labels. Splicing failure rectifys
the feeder atself. By strip end stopps the machine
for coil changing.

For the control system we took a Siemens PLC S7-
1500, for operation and visualization a touchpanel
KTP700. Rewinder, unwider and the strip feed unit
are powered by Bosch Rexroth servo drives. The
tractive power is controlled by our own winder
software with diameter calculation.

was unreliable and prone to failure. Especially in
setting mode we had to comply the EC machinery

servo drives. The masterdrive got a MLD (motion
control software) for PLC functions and controls the
other 4 axis with a sercos III communication port.

briquette press system for to reduce the volume of
production waste till twentyfold less. The
compressed briquettes become recycled to valuable
raw materials. We had to develope a control system
who can handle all different machine types with all

In course of a annex by a company it has to change
the complete heating system. A directive requests
20% renewable energy for new buildings. The
choise was solar heaters with a storage unit for
solar energy. The different inlet temperatures for
floor heating, radiators and hot air blower had to
delivery from the same system. The existing gas
heating has been integrated in the new Heating
system.

For the extensive control functions we took a
Siemens PLC S7-1500, for visualization and
operation a KTP400 touchpanel. On the basis of 4
different inlet temperatures we decided us for a
solar water reservoir from the company Jenny
Energietechnik ag. With it you can heating up the
water for apartment and sanitary installations at
once. With the choise of the water tank you are free
to change the gas heating against a heat pump.

stop an go performance by the palettizing. A new
servo drive with holding brake replaced a damaged
mechanical brake system. About the half wiring had

bring the safety functions to the new EC machinery

cabinet to the new safety functions.

ideas he created a innovation network with the name
„steam bath Seetal“. Under the patronage of „idea

The steam preparation, the air duct and the water
circulation are realized with a Siemens PLC S7-
1200. With it we know no bounds for further options.
The operation are made with a small touchpanel in
the steam bath cabine. A second possibility opens
up via Bluetooth cell phone based. Illuminations in
